Our Mission
The Mission of Moyola & Toome Credit Union Ltd is to promote the financial well being of its members. To achieve this purpose the credit union is committed to providing a broad range of innovative financial products supported by the excellent service of a dedicated staff.
The Credit Union Story so far...
Moyola & Toome Credit Union Limited opened its first account on the 3rd of March 1964.
It was the forward thinking of local man Owen Gribbin who had read about credit unions in Readers Digest, and with the help of others in the community, contacted John Hume, who was instrumental in starting the first credit union in Northern Ireland, in Derry.
It started life in the "Green Hut" in March 1964 and has gone from strength to strength.
In March 1964 Moyola & Toome Credit Union had 19 members...today we have a membership of 4,439 and growing.
The first Chairman was Mr. Roddy Gribbin Secretary Mr. Liam Gribbin and Treasurer Mr. Owen Gribbin.
The names of the other people, who over the past 49 years, have been influential in the promotion and success of Moyola & Toome Credit Union Limited are too many to mention, but you know who you are, and without your dedication and commitment we would not be where we are today, and for that we are eternally grateful.
